Should I Do Boys to Men?
Think about it. We are friends and mentors to boys and young men
ready to take the most challenging journey of their lives. Are
you ready?What happens at a Weekend Event?
The adventure of your life. No one can define your journey for you; you have to do that yourself. But having a community with you on your journey to give you new and better tools helps you become the best young man you can be. Our weekend events are challenging and exhilarating. Sometimes it's tough and sometimes it’s fun. Many young men say our weekend events are the best times of their lives.Is this worth my time?
That’s up to you. But if one or more of these is true for you, it probably is:- My life works pretty well right now, but I want more.
- I’m struggling with issues or problems I don’t know how to solve. I don’t even know if it’s possible to solve them.
- I don’t like the way some men act and I want to find a way to be different.
- I’d like to have a place—or another place—where I can be totally myself and be respected for it.
Is Boys to Men about teaching me to be a man?
No. We don’t do much teaching. We ask you what you want in your life, and then help you make it happen.
Is this going to be fun?
Yes, the program is fun. But Boys to Men is also very challenging, so if you are only looking for fun, this isn’t for you.How much time does this take?
To begin, sign up for one of our weekend events. They usually go from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon. Travel to another city may be required, but transportation is provided. Following the weekend, you can participate in “Journeymen groups” or J-Groups if there is one in your local community. Activities are scheduled regularly. Frequency varies from one local community to another.How strong or smart do I have to be?
Strength and smarts don’t have anything to do with this program.How old do I need to be?
We have programs for boys ranging in age from 10 to 17. If you are in this age and are interested, you're welcome. Contact us or watch our schedule of events for a weekend event for your age group.What do “Journeymen groups” do?
Sometimes they play paintball or go camping. Sometimes they do activities like those on our weekend events. Sometimes they’re just a place to share what’s going on in your life and get support.After I do a weekend event, can I be on staff?
Yes. After you’ve gained some leadership skills from the Journeymen groups you can apply to be on staff for our weekend events. Young men travel from all over the United States to staff these weekends.Still want to know more? Talk to us.
